How do I repair my Gainsborough 9.5 sdl Shower?

My shower is leaking from the unit, with water still coming out of the shower head. I have taken the front of the unit off, and can see the water is leaking out of the section that controls the hot / cold temperature. I took the white dial (long round plastic bit, looks like a long screw) out to see if I could find out why and can't get it back in, and don't know how to resolve the water leak

Jackie, I currently have the same problem, have removed the same piece as you did and not can't get it back in! Did you find a solution?

I have the same shower and mine seems to have done the same thing today. I don't think it is leaking at the outlet pipe, which would just be £12. It looks like a replacement unit is required. A replacement shower engine (the main workings) can be bought for £55 online. I haven't seen anything that allows you to repair the unit itself at component level.
