Does anyone have problems using any kind of Mobile phone charger/sat nav power lead for the 2000 onwards Mondeo. The cigar lighter works fine but wont power any other device. I may change but can anyone tell me how? maybe it just needs a new power socket.

i used to work in a busy hire car firm and we had lots of customers coming into us saying that thier lighter ports wouldnt work their satnav/chargers on our ford models. i was discovered that ford were last to change there ports over to universal use, and even up to the 57 plates there lighter ports would not on anything other than heating up the lighter. sometimes they would blow the fuse if any other device was tried, so check your fuses below the steering wheel, could be that or it could just be that u r out of luck. (p.s u may have a power out socket in your glovebox)
