Ignition removal?

I have a 1986 Chev. Nova and I need to remove the ignition switch. I have stripped away all of the dash components to expose the switch, however I cannot figure out how to remove the ignition switch itself. All I really need to do is remove the guts of it so I can get it rekeyed. I have even checked with our local Chevy dealership and they are no help what-so-ever. Any help will be appreciated.

Thank you.

As you said to getr it rekeyed you must be talking about the key cylinder in steering colum ....will need to pull steering wheel ...turn signal switch ..will need a depressor to remove the steering wheel lock mech......there will be a tork screw holding the key cylinder in ...or possably a phips head srew on that year ..take screw out and pull cylinder sideways .......when you get new cylinder you will get 2 new keys for it also ......
