smokey exhaust!!!?

i have a n reg nissan primera, recently topped up with oil to correct level, on start up from cold there is a lot of white smoke from the exhaust for about 20 mins, i know its burning oil but from where? head gasket?

this sounds like the valve oil stem seals are gone if it was the head gasket gone you would notice a big drop in power and a creamy apperance on the oil cap hope this helps
