How can I fix my laptop, it is running very slowly? I downloaded one of these "Free" fix it programs and they wanted money to actually fix it. Is there something I can do to check why it is running so slow? I have performed the defrag, it states there is nothing to fix but I ran it anyway. Also run disc clean several times a week. I am getting very frustrated, please help!

Could be a nasty. Run anti virus program(I'M assuming you have anti virus installed if not google AVG FREE and install and scan your lappy). You could also install SPYBOT SEARCH and DESTROY. Are you running XP or VISTA? You can run this Microsoft program but only with Internet Explorer and not Firefox or other browsers(http://onecare.live.com/site/en-us/default.htm). Hope this helps.
AVG and Spybot are reputable software unlike that "free" thing you downloaded.
