Johnson & Starley J25-32 Mk3 problem!?

I've had the thermocouple replaced a few times over the years but this time, after getting it replaced, the pilot will still not stay alight. What could be the new problem?
Many Thanks.

if the thermocouple is connected propaly at the back of the gas valve and the flame is on the tip of the thermocouple, the magnet in the gas valve has gone, new gas valve req, if u ever need a electronic panel for your appliance i have a few spare they retail at around £129+vat will accept £50 no vat hope i helped, any advice in the future feel free to e-mail me

We just got told the heat exchanger will do this if it needs replacing. It blows the pilot out

Probably time to get a new Honeywell controller for it, I have just been servicing mine as the blower motor had come unstuck, and also some water leak from the hot water circuit cause immense corrosion and galvanic action that needed thorough wire brush cleaqning and job done nicely with new hammerite paint. Motor got sorted out and free to turn, the water corrosion also caused the connectors deterioration beyon cleaning and repairis so out they went and a chop block did a geed job. Last time my Honewell unit went in it cost me about £100.00 fitted by a Corgi man. I don't touch the gas side of things, only the secondary electrica d evices such as blower motors, solinoids, diverter valves etc. Good luck.

I would agree with Ste , most W/air oxy pilots get blocked with dust which cause a very poor pilot flame which bearly covers thermo tip thus causing pilot to fail and some would assume a new thermo . I have never heard or recommend anyone to change an electro-magnetic thermo valve from any gas valve !!!!. if this part of the gas valve fails its a new gas valve req'd

before changing gas valve make sure your pilot light is well established and is covering the thermocouple properly

The gasvalve is the only other thing it can be.Sometimes the thermoelectric part of the valve can be bought seperately but it all depends which gasvalve is fitted on it.
