98 ford escort 1.8si problem starting?

I have a ford escort 1.8si, and it wont start. I was driving down the road when it lost all power and came to a stop, tried to get it going but no joy. After a recovery truck brought me home, we detected that there was no fuel getting to the engine. Anyone know what can cause this and how to fix it??? Grateful if anyone could help...

this sounds like the electrical fuel pump it is ethier located in the engine bay or next to the fuel tank this is an easy job and will omly take you 45 mins tops.

Hi, there are several possibilities why there is no fuel getting through:- Fuel pump fuse #14 15amp, fuel pump relay #6 both in the fuseboxes to the right of the steering wheel, fuel pump inertia switch (R/H kick panel) Immobilizer ( is the red led flashing when you try to start?) Fuel pump (in fuel tank) ECU (behind L/H kick panel) or broken wiring!!
