The wiper on my 2000 C200 Mercedes appears to have stripped the drive gear. How do I remove the wiper unit in order to replace gear inside. From other reports I have read points to this being a weak part of the mechanism. I am hoping that this can be done from the outside without having to remove the dash and internal fittings.

you dont need to remove the dash its all done under the bonnet but you do need to remove the scuttle panel that the wiper spindles pass through
