I have a suffolk punch engine that has no spark it ?

The engine has no spark but there is a broken wire beneath the carb would this be the problem i can not see where this black wire comes from.

hi the small dia black cable/wire on your engine is in fact the low tension circuit, if this wire is in contact with any part of the engine you will not get a spark at the sparkplug.You can fit a small switch in the circuit this will allow you to stop the engine.Connect the black wire to one side of switch, make a short wire and connect this to the other side of the switch, the other end of this wire connect to a screw or bolt on the engine.you can then switch on and off the ignition.

yes .
this wire is the ht wire. you will have to remove the flywheel to gain better acces . if not try joining it with ablock connector.
