I have a Bosch HBN7051GB/01 Fan assisted double oven. The heating element in the fan assisted oven needs replacing and I need instructions on how I do this?

Great advice on here- saved a call out charge / labour charge etc.
I also found that holding the fan spindle with pliers and gently twisting the fan made removal easy- trying to force it off didn't work !

Champion!! I guessed the fan might be held on with a 'left handed' threaded nut! Well I like to do a job properly so I'm going to remove the fan and replace the bracket. I really appreciate your reply and help with this. Brilliant website and thanks again,

Got it sorted thanks...
Managed to get the fan off too.! So for anyone else here's what I did...
1. Remove back plate inside the oven (4 spline screws)
2. Unbolt Fan. This bolt loosens opposite to normal (ie. turn Clockwise to loosen!). I used a medium screwdriver to stop te fan turning.
3. Prise washer off - note it's a keyed washer so only fits one way.
4. Remove Fan, which allows access to all screws. I found holding spindle with pliers and turning/easing the fan helped remove.
5. Unscrew element screws and carefully remove, taking care not to damage cable sheathing & replace new element.

Reverse procedures to re-fit, but watch keyed-washer is fitted correctly as this actually drives the fan blades.

Hi JohnD,

Well what I did was to leave the bracket that holds that awkward screw where it was. I then used pliers to bend this bracket so that I could remove the element. I then fitted the new element by offering it up to this 'distorted' bracket and using pliers re-bend this bracket so that the 2 parts of the element are kept separate but secure. NOT how I like to do things but it worked and the oven's okay now. Would still like to know how to remove the fan safely though??

Hi Trev,
Did you get this changed? I am just about to do the same on an HBN7052GB unit.. I got as far as you tonight, but didn't want to damage the fan. I really don't want to take the oven out from the kitchen unit as its a pain to get back it (I know as I installed it!). Appreciate if you could add your comments here.

Hi Graham or anyone who can help,

One of the screws that holds the element in place is located behind the fan! I therefore need to remove the fan which seems to be held in place by a central nut. Do you have any idea whether this nut is a left or normal right handed thread? Also how can I undo this nut and stop the fan rotating without damaging the fan blades? Any suggestions welcome,

i think its the same as the neff
quote i presume its a built in oven-Isolate the unit- (swtich offat mains)
take the unit out then at the back looking at it at the top right corner u will see two spades sticking out - thats ur oven element disconect those spades- then inside the oven where is a metal plate on the back wall u can see the fan in it! undo all the screws and take that plate off-then u will see the element around the fan! there are 2 screws which are at the top of the element which hold the element in place and also another at the end of it! take those out then u can remove the element! then put the new element in its place and reverse all the previous steps and your done! if you remove any cables make sure u note where they went or ur screwed! also it doesnt matter which was the connecters go back on the element but its nice to have it how it was! hope thats helped!
