I cleaned up a Ford 4100 and it was in a bad way. I stripped off all the panels and discovered that the wires were a mess. There was no voltage accross any of the fuses and there was a direct supply from the starter to the light switch [which was burned out]. I have traced most but need to connect back to the fuses.

Is there anyone that has an ignition wiring diagram for a ford 4000 diesel tractor. The switch has 5 poles in the back, and I have no idea what wire goes to what pole. Mice ate most of the wires to the switch, so i'm starting from scratch.

I'm in a similar situation: turned the key to get a "splat" of wiring short, and now everything is dead. Not sure where to start, but I'd sure appreciate a wiring diagram Tony. My email is "ejfletcher AT gmail.com"

To contribute some info to this group, a 1,267-page service manual for the Ford 4100 (and others) can be bought from eBay (http://stores.ebay.ca/Hard-To-Find-Tractor-Manuals) for $130. I don't have one, but with repair costs climbing, maybe I should consider it...
