My love, my ford escort L Reg 1993 1.4i Lx will not start. It doesn't make any noises or click sound when I turn the key over full. I've put in a new battery, but its not the battery.

This happend after the fan stopped working - whilst I was in a traffic jam the engine began to heat rapidly. As soon as I hit the Dual carrigeway and got to 40mph the engine cooled down and the car got me home safely. The next day, I put the key in and it won't start.

Any ideas would be most appreciative.
