No problem Acorn. Just remember guys this site isnt about who is cleverer than who ever. Its about helping the general public resolve what us engineers would class as fairly easy problems. I have 24 years in the industry, and i am sure some of you guys are equally as good at your jobs as myself.
Its tough times at the moment financially for people, so keep it simple and help those that need it with their alarms.

I know what you say is correct, but, what i was commenting on was the incorrect information given in the original answer.

Talk about make things complicated for the general public. John open the lid to the panel. Your alarm will activate internally only, enter your 4 digit user code, the noise will stop. Replace the battery. Red to red Black to Black, Do not get that wrong. Close the lid, enter your user code to reset the alarm. Job done.
You guys certainly know how to really complicate a simple procedure.

Oh dear, if help is going to be given, I wish it was correct.

The default Engineer Code for the Scantronic 9450 is 7 8 9 0, this has to be preceded by '0' followed by the 'Enter' key, so - '0' 'Enter' '7' '8' '9' '0' to get into Engineering and '9' '9' 'Enter' to leave.

0, Enter, is telling the panel to expect the Engineer code.

5, Enter, + User Code starts the Walk Test (User Code to end test)

Get the idea?

you can open the panel and put in your user code this will silence all sounders. replace the battery stick a date on it to help later. close cover and put in your code to reset.or put in 07890 this should get you into engineers mode if that code has not been changed open cover replace batt close cover then enter 99 enter to escape from engineering
