How can I reset the Grand Total on a TEC ma1450 cash register?

I am working on a TEC ma-1450 cash register. I can reprogram everything except the Grand Total and Net Grand Total. I have the user and manager manual which say this has to be done by a TEC technician. Is there a way to do this without buying expensive interface cards and software from Toshiba?

I had a TEC MA-1350, and I could reset the Grand Total together with all the other sales data.

Take your S-key and turn to the position next after Z (blind position).
Press 3 and CASH

A receipt with DATA-C will print, and your grand total together with the other sales data should now be zero!

Good luck! :)

Hi. These are NRGTs (non resettable grand totals). They are not daily totals, so they don't reset. The customer is supposed to ignore these if they are not interested in knowing the current overall total that the machine has put through. It is like an odometer in a car - it keeps the full totals. Simply tell the customer to ignore them. They will not affect the daily totals on the rest of the report.
