I have overfilled by approx 1 litre the oil level will this cause damage?

I have put approx 1 litre of oil over what I should have in my Ford Mondeo, should I try to release some out or will it be ok to leave?

let some of the oil out mate it can cause too much pressure and blow seals also it may damage the cat
