How can I replace the lower weight on the WF541?

My washing machine has been banging for a couple of days on the spin cycle and when I checked i found the lower weight snapped and loose. My problem is that the machine seems like a sealed unit and so it is difficult to get into. How do I do it?

You were right. It is quite easy to get inside but the drum casing needs replacing. Once I added up the cost of all the parts it was cheaper to get Hotpoint and they are coming later in the week. Thanks again.

the whole front of the machine will come off, remove lid and soap drawer, undo 2 screws holding the console panel and the 2 holding the dispenser in place undo clips and wiring and the console will lift clear. Remove front panel, 2 screws at the top and 2 at the bottom (behind kickstrip), you will also need to undo the door lock (2 screws) and the door seal (sprung wire band) front panel will lift and come off. Chances are though its going to need a complete drum as the mounting points will have worn/sheared, if the tub joins in the middle you can change the front half of the tub. good luck
