My 1988 cargo 0813 failed it's test. The king pins need replacing. I have been told they are hard to remove. Can anyone please tell me how to go about it or is it a no go job for a normal type person.

There is probably too much play due to wear.
It's not an easy job to do and you need proper equipment and facilities.
For starters you have to remove the wheels, so if you don't have an air impact wrench and a compresor etc, this is going to be very difficult.
The bushes/bore need to be reamed, so you need a large diameter adjustable reamer as well. There are various pins to be driven out - you need taper and parallel pin punches.
