HOOVER 232 WASHING MACHINE?

THE MACHINE DOES NOT GO INTO SPIN CYCLE. THE PUMP IS WORKING OK AND IT DRAINS THE MACHINE HOWEVER WHEN IT SHOULD GO INTO SPIN MODE IT JUST HUMS FOR SEVERAL MINUTES AND PASSES CYCLE TO STOP POSITION. ANY IDEAS ANYONE ?
