It depends on what program is asking for the product code. For example, if its Windows it will be on the Windows sticker on the PC. If it doesn't have one then you may have been sold a pirate copy.
Other programs generally have the code on the packaging of the CD and so in that case, you need to go back to the supplier of the program and ask them.
