when we had that bad weather few months back my battery died on my fiat punto now i cant get the key light to go out so the car starts ive changed the ecu and the complete barrell system with another fiat punto still no joy can anyone help love the car dont want to see it go yet thanks

I just bought a new ECU for a 2001 newer model 1.2 8V engine which is probably the same as your model. To program the ECU warm up the engine untill the electric engine fan comes on and then over rev the engine until the dashboard light goes out. no need to change ignition key switches or dooor locks. you may have to over rev the engine 5 or so times before the light goes out on the dashboard. this is the way Fiat program the ECU and charge lots of moeny to do it, while charging for new door keys locks and ignition switches.
