Could be anything - you need to connect a diagnostic unit to the DLC (Data Link Connector) socket in the car to find out the error code. This will tell you what is causing the problem. An indipendant garage will charge about £30 to do this, main dealer a lot more. Once the code reader is connected you have the option of clearing the error, but if the problem is major it will possible come back.
