my fiat punto has very heavy steering, it has no light on the dash and no fluid resevoir so i dont think it has power steering. But the steering is very heavy can anyone help

Lee, your car - if it has actually got power steering (some don't) will probably have electric 'Dual assist' power steering. try disconnecting the battery for more than 30 minutes and reconnecting it again. this resets the electric power steering. Before you disconnect the battery make sure you have the code for the radio so that you can re-enter the code when the battery is reconnected up.
