Can anyone advise me on the problems that may cause this to come on?

My car cuts out when I rev over 1500 rpm and is difficult to re-start. When I rev at 2000+ rpm it cuts out and 'engine immobiliser fault' comes on and will not start until I leave for 1/2 hour?

Any ideas please?
