No power on Whirlpool dryer?

I have a whirlpool tumble dryer AWZ7814AL and it just stopped working. There are no power lights and no sign of life at all.
I have checked the power cord and put a multimeter on the flex inside and it reads 240 volts.I also traced the cables inside to the rotating switch on the front panel and there is 240 v there too.It is completely clear of fluff on the filters, the condenser bottle operates the microswitch, the door latch operates its microswitch and everything inside appears to be okay.I stripped the machine down including taking out the drum but still no evidence of failure.
Is there a thermal cut out on these or thermal fuse and if so would it stop everything from working?
