Made a mistake and emptied potato salad into the kitchen sink erator. Now its clogged. My washer directly downstairs in the basement doesnt drain either. Help me Don't know what to do.

I had a similar problem some time ago and obtained a drain cleaner acid solution from my hardware store that burnt away the blockage but follow the instructions by using rubber gloves, goggles and not looking directly over the plug hole as you may get spurts in your face. If you don't want the chrome to turn black then use a small funnel when pouring.
