Disconnecting the wires to the flood switch will actually cause the fault. Connect the two wires back on to the flood switch using the two outside pins of the 3 in the connector. Make sure float is sitting right down & not operating flood switch. You can raise & lower float manually & should hear switch click on & off. Also check for any corrosion on switch or terminals that would cause a bad connection.
