we have a SD combi boiler and the heating is working fine but the hot water only works when the heating is ON - can anyone help? this is annoying when weather is good and expensive

The water valve diaphragm has a split in it, and the water flow cannot move the switch, If you move the lever on the front to the left and back again while the tap is running it may work, but only until the tap is shut. Replacing the diaphragm is the answer,simple low cost fault.
