How can I put a new drive belt around the drum of my Hotpoint 9316?

Hi there,

I'm racking my brains trying to work out how to get a new drive belt around the drum of my Hotpoint 9316. The back plate is welded in place and I can't work out how to do it. Any ideas? Maybe I'm missing something obvious.

Ps - I have the drawing for how it goes around the motor OK at http://www.applianceaid.com/images/belt-config.JPG it's just the drum I can't do.

To nick sandberg, re: 9316 hotpoint belt replacement. If you take the lid off the top on the machine and look behind the control panel their are plastic posts with metal clips around them if you can get these off it frees the front panel, remove the panel, down both sides of the machine beneath the panel are long strips of plastic dressing plates which slot down the side of the machine hiding the fact that the front place comes off. Slide each of the upwards them and this exposes the front of the machine where the front plated which is screwed in place, the rest is up to you!

of the machine either side of the machine the . On either side of the machine

Get an ox-acetelene torch, cut off the back, fit the belt then weld the back on. Simple really.
