Registering a Onetel cordless phone?

I have a twinset cordless phone made by Onetel, model number OT8500 Twin. Bought from argos a couple of years ago. Anyway, I have somehow managed to unregister one of the handsets from the base??? Dont know how but it wont let me register it again. Does anyone know how to do it or know where I could download the manual for it? Or even have the manual for their own? Have searched the net but no luck.

Does anyone know what to do if you have forgotten the PIN on a DBTel DB3 phone? I wanted to register a new handset to it but have forgotten the PIN - have tried 1111, 0000, etc. but did not work. There are no instructions on the manual as to how to reset it.

Basically the process of registering a phone to a base station is prety much the same for all manufacturers. What you are trying to achieve is to set the main base station (the one plugged into the BT line) into registration mode to prepare it for an incoming registration request from the handset you are trying to add. This can usually be done by holding one of the available buttons on the base station down for a couple of seconds until it beeps (for instance on my DBTel system I have to hold down the paging button), then you have to put the handset to be registered in registration mode (how to do this should be pretty obvious - just follow the display). Once handset and base station have found each other, you will need to put in a pin number to authorise the 2 to connect each other. These steps are to prevent anyone else from just registering a handset on your system and using your phone! Once you understand the process that needs to happen you can pretty much apply it to any make and model cordless phone and work out how to register the handset! Hope this helps.

1. At the base: press and hold "FIND HANDSET". You hear 2 beeps and the in use light flashes. Youa re now in registration mode.

2. At the handset: Press "OK". scroll down (with down arrow) to "REGISTRATION" and press "OK".

3. "REGISTER" is diplayed. Press "OK". Any free base numbers will flash. Enter the number of the base you want using the keypad.

4. Enter the PIN Number (default = 0000) and press "OK"

5. The handset searches for the base and when registration is complete goes into standby mode.

To test the handset is registered. Press "FIND HANDSET" on the base and the handset should begin to ring. Press "FIND HANDSET" again to stop the ringing.
