Repair or replace Electrolux canister on/off switch?

Does anyone know how to Repair or replace Electrolux canister on/off switch. The vacuum is stuck in the on position and I have to unplug it to turn it off. I have figured out how to open the top of the unit by removing the side panels, but don't know what to do or which parts I should look to repair or replace. If anyone has done this or can suggest a free manual for help, please let me know.

Thanks

My rocker arm broke. Thats the part that moves the switch from side to side, when you step on the button. I got the unit opened up, but now that I have a replacement part, I can't recall how the parts go back in. Take a photo of it when you get it open. Anybody have any help for me on how the parts go in?

I got the part for $1.75, plus $6.95 shipping.

it is actually simple. once you get the sides slide off. make sure both ends of the canister are open. You can then see 6 screws. 2 of them are for the switch, while the other 4 allow access. when you open the switch, you will see it is made 3 pieces. chances are you need to replace the plastic part that moves the switch from on to off and back again. It'll cost you about $5 to get the part. email me at wrphd@comcast.net and i'll look for the company you can order the part from. the rest you'll be able to figure out.
