my optima rf wire free alarm system has a mind of its own. The door contact on the front door is the issue, when the alarm is disarmed and we are in the house the panel starts to beep and zone 5's led comes on solid. When i try to restart it clears then alarms again, but the main alarm bell doesnt go off. I have checked the position and replaced the battery and it still alarms. any ideas

You are lucky to have had 5 trouble free years from it. I stopped installing the Optime Wirefree systems because of the problems I had. I had intermittent faults that were sometimes panel faults & sometimes detector faults. Your problem could be either one.

Is your door made of metal? to be honest radio systems are a pain in the neck. RF stands for radio frequency. The cheaper products are affected by taxi, police transmissions etc etc. How long has the system been in for.
