Briggs and Stratton blows blue smoke?

I have drained and replaced oil, gas, air filter and spark plug and engine STILL blows blue smoke after being started for about 30 seconds.

....and when oil burns it gives off WHITE smoke, not bluey/black which indicates fuel so definitely try the diaphragm first.

...or it's simply (and more likely) that the carb diaphragm needs replacing. A 15 minute job with a new iaphragm kit costing less than a pound.

Blue smoke indicates oil burning so 1) The oil level is too high 2) The crankcase breather pipe is blocked 3) the piston and cylinder have worn.
