Thanks "me", the clutch unfortunately does not have an assistor. The Agents quoted a ridiculouse R 3 200 (South African Rands) for a new sealed clutch master / slave cylinder system as it has to be imported. Will have to bite the bullet!

Thanks for the advice and surpport.

Thanks 'me', there is unfortunatly no assistor.
I called the agents who quoted a crazzzy price of R 3 200 (South African Rands) for a new clutch master/slave cylinder kit!

Is there anyone who could assist ... (Shipping etc.)

I've just bought a 97' 406 and it did the same thing! I used to pump the clutch by hand which helped but today it went completely flat. I too can select when the car is switched off. I know it's not the clutch itself and am desperate for advice on how to repair it?

try it without the mat!

first check if your clutch pedal is fitted with an assistor. will be plastic tube with spring on outside. try spraying wd40 over the assistor on clutch pedal. if there is no assistor fitted probably clutch master/slave cylinder req replacing.
