Peogeot 307 2005 getting hot when stationary?

What to check ?, my 307 1.6 petrol when driving temp is fine. When stationary the temp gauge needle goes to 3/4's as soon as I start driving it goes back to 1/2.

Thats actually normal - so long as the cooling fan eventually cuts in. The car cools down when driving due to air rushing through the radiator.
