1.8 diesel ford timing pin length?

I have the haynes manual and would like to reset the timing belt.
Haynes maunal says I can make my own TDC pin for the crank and I have removed the alternator pulley and the blanking bolt from the engine.
I have a 10mm stud and nuts to make the tool, but do not know length.
Does anyone know where I can find the length of this pin so I dont have to buy a complete kit. I already have a flat bar for the cam.
Thanks

Haynes manual says 47.5mm (page 3A.10 - engine manual), but im not absolutely sure if this is correct, as 'Crypton' data says 46.5mm. The thing is, I used to have an Orion 1.8D, and after replacing the cambelt (using the Haynes measurment - 47.5mm), felt that it was very slightly under powered, so started to investigate and found these differant measurments. Never got round to trying out 46.5mm, as the car got stolen shortly afterwards.

Hi Col, the bolt needs to be 47.5mm from the end of the bolt to under the head or adjusting nuts
