my tumble dryer does not heat at all. can it be fixed?

My 11 yr old tumble dryer does not heat at all. Can it be fixed or is it not worth the trouble now? The machine is a Whirlpool.

Have you checked to see if there is an overheat button at the back. This may need to be pressed and then you will get heat. The same thing happened to mine and now it works. Mine is also a whirlpool. The button is at the back on the side of the domed bit at the back (if that makes sense!)

Hello,

Does your dryer have little heat or no heat? If you have little heat your vent could be clogged. If you have no heat you have to make sure the dryer is getting 220 volts. It could also be a faulty heating element, thermostats and the such. You need a multimeter to do the checks but its not terribly hard and not worth trashing your dryer for.
