damaged heating element?

Hi there clever people ,my dog was in the back of the car and he got a bit excited when he spotted a cat the
result was he damaged the lines of the heater on the rear window .Now all i have when i put the heated rear window is half of clear window.
Without replacing the window how best can i solve my problem

Available from halfords (or similar) is a paint on element which is copper based and allows current to track over the broken part of the element. Purchase same, check with circuit tester exactly where breaks are, use masking tape to provid narrow channel and paint on....bingo....next time switched on will clear all window....providing you found all the breaks! :-D Tends not to be very permanent though so need to be careful with regard to cleaning and letting the dog back in
