how can i fix my tdc60 tumble drier?

i have a tdc60 tumble drier that is about 4years old, it appears to be working fine, lights on, spinning round, making the drying sounds, but there is no heat inside. There was a slight burning smell coming from the machine just before the heat stopped... having read other answers on this site i'm lead to believe it may be the thermostat, but surely wouldn't it be the element? i don't want to purchase the wrong part and can't afford to get anyone out to look at the machine! Please help!!!

Worked a treat

My TDC60 blew the thermostats recently, which I replaced (£20), only to have them blow again.

Ive finally tracked the problem down to the heater relay on the main board which has failed in the ON position.

The result being that the heater is on ALL the time, even when the door is open.

A main board is £100, however i have sourced the same 16A relay from farnell (RS also have them) for £3. You will neet to be handy with a soldering iron though, as this is not a consumable part.

Not fitted it yet, will update when it arrives.
