no steam,hi, my wife alerted me to the problem and upon moving the thick cord connecting the iron to the generator the problem became intermitant almost as if there was a bad conection at the generator end of the cord,thought i'd have a look around inside when the iron was cool, only to find the star shaped screw with raised centre pin being my 1st hurdle, can you help please, my wife loves this iron and i can't deprive her the pleasure this gives her,thanks stuart

Cable brakes internally through wear and tear close to generator. Either iron will not heat or the iron switch will not operate the solenoid. Open base of generator and shorten iron cable to remove the broken section.Screwfix used to sell a set of security screwdriver bits to aid removal of generator base.
