brake band adjustment on Ryobi PCN 4545?

The brake band on my ryobi pcn4545 which is attached to the kick back lever isn't releasing properly and is slowing down and almost stopping the saw when using it. I fitted a new band and clutch to try to cure the fault but it is still the same. It appears that the band is too tight but I can't find any means of adjustment. Can any one help please.

Had the same problem - managed to melt the plastic housing because the band was getting hot.

Had all but given up finding a fix and there is no obvious brake adjustment.
BUT g white saved the day - shortened the spring and all is fine again - for the moment.

Thanks for the info
