spur?

i want to put a socket on a wall but can only get one twin and earth cable down trunking thats already there.can i class this as a spur if i put a joint box in the ring to connect it . only feeds a table lamp

As you say JB placed in ring main. Just remember spurs cannot be taken off a spur so you couldn't add another via that socket.

Yep - keep the spur cable as short as you can, and use a heavy duty junction box where you break into the ring main.
