I have a 2000cc jaguar x type and display shows cruise control not avaiable. The engine revs are limited to 3000

only the orange warning on the speedo. when in this fault mode and you try to switch off the curise control the displays says cruise control off ,then reverts back to on then goes back to displaying cruise control not avaiable. After many many tries to switch off the Curise control it will turn off and the car runs normally until the ignition is switch off. the next time the car is started it goes back to the fault condition.

Hi, do you have any other warning lights on?? as it sounds like the engine ECU has gone into "limp home mode" this will limit the the engine to 3000rpm to prevent serious damage
