how to remove the piston of my 3.5hp push mower?

i would like to replace the piston of my lawn mower do to wear and tear over the years.

......but there probably won't be any point unless you can re-bore the cylinder as well. You will need a new (oversize) piston and ring set to match the re-bored cylinder. Forget it and fit a replacement engine - it will be cheaper anyway.

The best compromise would be a new short engine, and your existing head, flywheel, carb and cowling.

This means considerable dismantling of the engine, which needs to be on the bench. You have to remove the sump or lower cover to expose the crankshaft, and the cylinder head. With the big end bolts undone, the piston will come out through the top.
