peugeot boxer van clutch problem?

my clutch pedal all of a sudden snaped on me.(peugeot boxer van 1.9D 2000) i have removed the clutch cable and checked its opperation and it seems ok. i tried to move the arm on the gearbox by pushing down on it but it won't move is this normal or is it going to be an internal problem?

I also had a Boxer clutch pedal break. The problem with mine was the pathetic design at the point the cable met the pedal, we made a repair within one hour that was better than the original design.
