How do I fix this problem or diagnose it?

I bled my clutch and as i take off I let out all the way on my clutch and the car gradually takes off and has very little pulling power. Also when i remove the positive battery cable my car dies I have a 85 toyota corolla

michelle, try this for clutch check apply handbrake select first gear let clutch out if engine does not stop then clutch is slipping and if you can not adjust it then it will need replacing
as far as removing the positive lead unless it is a diesel the engine will stop because you have removed the circut the engine requires to run. good luck

Sounds like your clutch is slipping and might need replacement and as far as disconnecting cable and it turns off only works on some cars.......your actually checking to see if the alternator is charging doing this ........
