fitting inner and outer cv boot kits?

hi all,how do i fit the inner and outter cv boot kits on my 1993 suzuki vitara?
i know how to get the shaft out but once i have done that the rubber boot kits dont stretch over the ends of the shaft because of the bearings on the cv joints.
ive tried to fit a pair already but i had to cut them and i cannot seal them up cos they keep coming open again.
can anyone tell me if im missing something or doing something wrong please.

Having removed the wholething from the car you then need to separate the joint from the shaft. These are sometimes held on by an internal circlip which means that a sharp tap with a heavy mallet should prise it apart. Or, a circlip that you need to spread apart. Cut the oldboot off and clean away as much grease as you can then turn as if on full lock you should be able to tell which type it is. You'll be able to do both boots from one end.

Its often possible - but I'm not sure in your case - to remove the outer cv joint by putting it on full lock and releasing an internal circlip. However, Draper do a conical tool which allows the new boot to stretch over the joint in situ....never used one though!
