tomtom keeps loosing gps signal?

gps signal keeps coming up then going.some times gone for about 20 min other times will get srong signal
and stay up. other times none at all

i could get no gps signal on tom tom. found if you hold down the power button till the screen gos blank it some how resets it self hope this helps
