How can I repair my garden swing?

I have a good solid garden swing frame, but the ropes and slatted seats are completely rotten. Because of the metal rings in the frame and need to 'join' rope, it's not a straightforward job. Any suggestions?

You could try a ships chandlers, who supply rope by the metre and also may have a rope splicing service and attachments for joining ropes.

Its a bit difficult to see what is going on here due to the impossibility of providing pictures, but have you considered replacing the rotten ropes with steel chain - available in lengths from B&Q etc?
