you left the the key without battery for more the 6 seconds, you need to reprogram the key,

normally when remote batteries are replaced it must be reprogrammed simply put the key in ignition switch ignition on then press any button on fob for approx 10 seconds this should reprogramme the fob

Did you put the battery in the right way round? The small red light should show when you press the button.
