Van Immobilised because of Battery taken out to charge?

I have a Ford Transit van 1998 model and I removed the battery to charge it. When I put the battery back I couldn't start the van because it was immobilised and I don't know how to rectify this problem. Any answers........please....

The engine management system no longer recognises the key as the battery has been disconnected.
You have to re-synchronise the keys to the van.
I'm afraid I dont know how to do it on a Ford, but if you google ford key resync you should find it.
